There are the things that make you angry, and then there are the things that set your hair on fire.
That is how upset I’ve gotten as each new discovery from our investigation into a major political figure comes forward.
And for Delaware gun owners, it couldn’t be worse than this.
It appears that the President of the Delaware State Sportsman’s Association (the NRA state affiliate) and former President of both the NRA and Delaware Republican Party, John Charles Sigler, used his high profile positions to line up pro-gun legislator votes and neuter grassroots organizations so he could personally profit from passage of the worst anti-gun bill of the year.
He’s also not alone.
Before I explain the incredible story of corruption and betrayal that has potentially made Delaware gun owners and conservatives victims of their own time, effort, and money…
…I need to make sure you understand that this is not a frivolous or shameless attack letter.
In fact, the only reason why we’re breaking this story is because we didn’t want the left-wing News Journal to break it with a cover-up propaganda report, which they still may attempt anyway.
Our research team and everyone else involved would rather NOT have found this information.
But the evidence has reached a point where keeping our suspicions under wraps for much longer would simply be aiding and abetting the high-profile corruption going on in Dover.
Too many genuine people are giving their trust and hard-earned dollars to people who lie.
In fact, there’s so much information to convey, our volunteer forces have convinced me to separate this case across multiple emails.
House Bill 88 is the linchpin to Governor Markell’s Gun Grab package and is currently in the legislature.
The leftists are using so called “mental health” bills like HB-88 to confiscate firearms across the country by rapidly expanding what can be defined as “mental illness.”
They plan to bully health workers into becoming a “thought police” force to justify taking your guns away.
Anyone who has been paying attention to the news over the years – and especially in the last few months – knows that the first people targeted are those who believe in individual liberty and those who are courageous enough to voice opposition to ever-growing state and federal control over our lives.
So who’s peddling this scheme in Delaware?
Enter John Sigler.
President of the Delaware State Sportsman’s Association (the state NRA affiliate), Mr. John Sigler, recently and abruptly resigned as Chairman of the Delaware Republican Party, citing that he needed to spend more time on his business, Psychotherapeutic Services, Inc.
That sounds reasonable, considering we’ve uncovered that it’s just about the ONLY thing he’s been doing anyway.
Out of one side of his mouth, he’s been lobbying for the DSSA.
But out of the other side, he’s been pushing legislation for Psychotherapeutic Services – his company that has made over $10 million dollars from state contracts in Delaware since 2009.
We were already investigating his activities on House Bill 88 due to the virtually unanimous vote that had swept it through the House two weeks ago.
It didn’t make any sense that the single most egregious, anti-gun bill of the year would sail through 40-1 with overwhelming Republican support.
Then, after the bill passed the House with meaningless amendments, the NRA brought back it’s full endorsement.
Other bills of statism, like House Bill 35 for de facto gun registration and Senate Bill 16 for imprisonment of innocent victims, passed by extremely close vote margins.
In fact, if it wasn’t for RINO State Senator Cathy Cloutier (5th District), SB-16 would NOT have passed.
It’s safe to say at this point that, if John Sigler had kept his Republicans corralled and actually stirred up some GOP/NRA energy into the fights instead of spending all of his time lobbying for his company on bills like HB-9 and HB-75, both anti-gun bills HB-35 and SB-16 would have gone down in flames.
House Bill 9, of course, is relevant to House Bill 88 because it gives full immunity to clinics like Sigler’s for any civil or criminal claims coming out of physically detaining someone for an involuntary mental health evaluation.
Such evaluations are referenced in HB-88.
And House Bill 75 was the government giving its own, new definitions to marriage that it has no business giving in the first place.
Sigler’s company, of course, also provides marriage counseling.
But let’s get back to the mother ship bill, House Bill 88. Sigler’s green thumb of greed is all over it.
Guess where those “mental illness” health services are going to come from? Psychotherapeutic Services, among others.
The Governor gets his gun confiscation bill, Sigler gets more business.
They are literally exploiting the very serious issue of mental illness for profit and tyranny.
And the Markell/Sigler tag team is actually not alone:
We’ve noticed that the primary sponsor of the bill, Michael Barbieri (D-18) works for Crossroads of Delaware, Inc., a treatment facility in Wilmington.
We’ve also noticed that the Republican National Committeeman, Laird Stabler, lobbied for two medical organizations that would stand to profit from the bill.
Stabler also lobbied for House Bill 89, which will allow companies like his and Sigler’s to build freestanding inpatient rehabilitation hospitals without going through the Certificate of Public review process.
Maybe those are the hospitals where many of us will be involuntarily detained and held for mental health evaluation before our firearms are confiscated.
But at least Stabler’s liberalism is consistent and out in the open, like his Delaware Sustainable Energy offices at 109 South State Street in Dover.
So, just to recap, how did Sigler’s activities betray gun owners?
John Sigler used his position as Chairman of the GOP, former NRA President and current DSSA President. . .
. . . to keep grassroots gun advocates and Dover legislators assured that House Bill 88 was a “good bill” while he personally stood to profit from the gun grab.
Most legislators probably didn’t even read it.
After all, once a bill was “Sigler Approved,” why would they?
And he peddled the age-old line that STILL gets every access-based grassroots organization to sell out and stand down:
“Our amendments made the bill much better.”
More than anything, Establishment hacks like John Sigler want us to compromise for as little as possible.
They want to give us a false choice when they know full well that either one we pick results in the LOSS of our LIBERTIES.
It’s a wonder how people fall for this stuff.
My next email will break down House Bill 88, the “Sigler Bailout Bill,” in more detail.
We’ll start showing direct excerpts from the bill language and how they translate into more dollars for Sigler, Stabler, Barbieri, and others.
Don’t let House Bill 88, the Sigler Bailout Bill, pass out of the State Senate.
We only need 11 Senators to vote NO on HB-88 to kill the Sigler Bailout Bill, please call today!
